TRIBAL BELLY DANCE

Tribal style belly dance is increasing in popularity throughout the world.

Originating in San Francisco , this style has an earthiness reflected in the multi-layered costumes, make-up and accessories which are sourced from many countries along the silk route, but still distinctly middle-eastern in the execution of the dance movements.

The style is often described as poised, elegant and strong.

Belly Dance Arabesque was the first school in South Australia to introduce Tribal style to students and audiences, and the classes now offered are from Beginners through to Advanced.

One of the attractions of Tribal style belly dance is the way that a group of dancers work together to create patterns and flow within the music, to great dramatic effect.

In the upper levels the students are introduced to the concept of “improvisational choreography”.

The group follows a “leader” picking up on the cues given to take them into transitions, and although the leader can change, the dance flows smoothly from start to finish.

Under the expert and enthusiastic guidance of Mira, who is constantly introducing new and exciting elements to this great style, Tribal style belly dance is a style you will want to experience.

Please refer to the College Park timetable to see when Tribal classes are offered.

We also offer Tribal style beginners classes through the WEA.
